This amp has a very unique character that seems almost like a mix between a Plexi and some of the big BF Fenders in regard to it’s stour attack that has a different feel than Marshall.

The crunch and dimed gain range is indeed leaning towards some plexi style tones. But it has a different upper midrange and a bottom end that is similar to the Zodiac Twin 30 – very big, puncy and stout. It also has a very unique bite up top that is further underlined by the vintage Celestion G12 alnico speakers.

It is capable of some angry, musical and unique rock tones and cuts through like a knife. Similar to the Zodiac, it takes pedals as good as very few other amps do.

Josh Smith features this model on his YT channel and talks about it as one of his favorite amps in the plexi-like realm.

The set includes 24 AMP+CAB captures ranging from clean to lead and featuring various EQ settings. Please refer to the full list of Tone Models under the product pictures.

Excellent, highly recommend!

I definitely hear some of the Plexi-like tones that Amalgam noted in the description, but I like this more than any other Plexi sets I have. I find it to be quite different from the Selmer Zodiac and expect this amp will appeal to a larger audience. So if you weren't sure about the Zodiac (it has a really unique character that I absolutely love but might not work for every situation), don't overlook this Selmer. The TNB50 covers a lot of ground, is rich and characterful, and excels in the crunch/dimed tones. As always with Amalgam, fantastic quality and a must-have capture set!
